Chief Minister, was presented a cheque of Rs. 50 lakh by Ambuja Cements


Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, was presented a cheque of Rs. 50 lakh by Shri Dinesh Sharma, General Manager, Ambuja Cements Limited, here today, as company’s contribution towards the laying of synthetic track at Dharamshala stadium in district Kangra, to create quality sports infrastructure to the budding sports talents in the State.

Chief Minister thanked the company for sponsoring the construction of a synthetic track at Dharamshala at a cost of Rs. 4 crore out of which Rs. 75 lakhs had been received by the executing agency. He said that the State Government was upgrading the sports infrastructure in the state to facilitate the sports talents with best of the modern sports training facilities near to their homes. He said that Dharamshala was upcoming as a sports town in the State where first international standard cricket stadium had been constructed and IPL matches organised last year successfully. He said that with the laying of synthetic track training and sports events would be conveniently organized in the town.

Shri Dinesh Sharma, General Manager of Ambuja Cements said that the company was committed to assist the State Government in creation of quality sports infrastructure to polish sports talents. He said that the company would be providing a total sum of Rs. 4 crore to the State for laying of synthetic track at Dharamshala out of which Rs. 75 lakhs had already been provided to the executing agency. He assured the Chief Minister that more funds would be made available with the progress of the work on the proposed project.
