No Definite Reports to Suggest LeT Hand in Stone-Throwing

No Attempt by the Centre for Out of Court Settlement of Ayodhya Issue
The Central Government has not made any attempt for out of court settlement of the Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Madjid dispute after the Allahabad High Court judgement, announced on 30th September, 2010. However, in compliance with directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble Special Bench of the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow, the Central Government is obliged to maintain the status-quo at the Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Masjid Complex at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh for a period of 3 months from the date of pronouncement of the judgement by the Hon’ble Special Bench of the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow i.e., up to 30.12.2010. The Union of India was not a party to any of the title suits. This information was given by the Minister of State for Home, Shri Ajay Maken in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
Militant Groups Continue Efforts to Revive Militancy in Punjab

Available reports suggest that militant groups, especially those based abroad, continue to persist with their efforts to revive militancy in Punjab. However, there are no specific inputs at present indicating nexus between Lashkar-e-Taiba and terror groups like Babbar Khalsa International and Khalistan Zindabad Force.

No Definite Reports to Suggest LeT Hand in Stone-Throwing
There are no definite reports to suggest that Lashkar-e-Taiba is behind the stone- pelting in the Kashmir valley. However, the role of Lashkar-e-Taiba cannot be denied in provoking militancy in the State. The violent/stone-pelting incidents have considerably come down after 21st September, 2010.

The Central Government has supported the Government of J&K in tackling the law and order situation in the State by deployment of additional Central Para-Military Forces from time to time. The Central and State Governments made several appeals for dialogue and peace to resolve the situation. The Prime Minister convened an All Party meeting on J&K on 15th September, 2010 and sought the guidance of various political parties represented in Parliament on the complex issues facing the State. In the light of the decision taken at the meeting, an All Parties Delegation visited J&K on 21st & 22nd September, 2010 and met all sections of people. The Government announced an 8 point package which is under implementation.
