General Industry Corporation is involved in manufacturing furniture

Shimla-Himachal Pradesh General Industry Corporation is involved in manufacturing furniture and other market-oriented products to attract the consumers and to add to the income of the corporation. This was stated by Industry Minister Sh. Kishan Kapoor while presiding over the meeting of Board of Directors of the Corporation here today.

He said that the help of designers was being sought to design both the wooden and steel furniture so as to give it an attractive look. He said that the corporation had earned the profit of Rs. 30.94 lakh by selling the products to the tune of Rs. 12.22 crore from April, 2010 to September, 2010. He urged the officers that every year the design of the furniture being made by them should be different so that it could attract consumers with the changing tastes.

Addressing another meeting of the State Industrial Development Corporation, here today, Sh. Kapoor stressed upon to bring innovative changes in the products being manufactured by the corporation and said that the quantity should also be improved as well. Lauding the efforts of the corporation , he said that a target of distribution of loans upto Rs. 800 lakh had been kept during current financial year.

Ms Harinder Hira, Additional Chief Secretary , Managing Director, General Industry Corporation, Sh. T.C.Janartha, MD HPSIDC Sh. Kashmir Chand, Secretary Finance, Sh. K.K.Pant, Commissioner Industries, Sh. Onkar Sharma and other officers were also present in the meeting.
